Prof. Daniel Chee Tsui visits ICQM (10/14/10)
Prof. Daniel Chee Tsui, 1998 Nobel Prize Laureate in Physics, has visited ICQM on Oct. 14, 2010. Prof. Tsui met with student delegates from PKU Physics School and ICQM, in a free-discussion session chaired by ICQM Director Prof. X. C. Xie. In the conversation, Prof. Tsui gave students advice on questions ranging from research topic selection to facing the life when pursuing higher education overseas. He emphasized that one has to work hard before thinking of when to reap bumper harvests. He also suggested to the students, as beginners in research work, the importance in laying solid foundation and in respecting the experience of predecessors. Head of Physics School Prof. Enge Wang presented souvenir to Prof. Tsui at the end of the session. Prof. Li Lu, Deputy Director of Institute of Physics Chinese Academy of Sciences and ICQM members Prof. Junren Shi, Prof. Biao Wu, Dr. Jian Wei, Dr. Ying Jiang attended the meeting.
